U.S. time 3:24

We left Detroit in the opposite direction the sun was going in and met it only a few hours later coming over the other side of the world. How strange. It’s 3:26 am at home and it’s bright outside here – so I feel like my day is still going – the tiredness hasn’t hit me yet. I just barely made the flight. I was the last on the plane. I sat in the middle isle in a middle seat. I pretended to sleep for three hours, remembering old dreams since my brain wasn’t making any new ones. I think I have a window seat for this next flight.

I want to buy some Belgium Waffle cookies – well, I don’t know what they are really called, but Kylee sent me some from the Netherlands when she was here and they were delicious. But the machines only take Euros and I ain’t got none.

I’m sitting outside the gate. There’s a white couple playing cards. They have nalgene bottles in the side pockets of their bags. There is an obviously African man walking around with crazy printed slacks. The intenet costs money here - $6Euro/30min ..yeah right.

Everything is in English at this airport except the people. And there are smoking sections, which is weird. I was walking and got confused all the sudden and I realized it was because I’ve never smelled cigarettes in an airport before.

I got up to use the bathroom once on the flight over (which was an hour shorter than I thought - 7hrs.) and I got really giddy for some reason- same feeling I got taking off from Detriot and the same feeling walking around here.

I was having these feelings of WHAT! What are you doing! And then the exciting feeling came – which I like better. My dad gave me a really great blessing before we left this afternoon for Orlando. I know I’m being watched over while in Uganda.
